Electric Wheelchair Trainer
Year: Spring 2018
Location: Johns Creek, GA
Purpose: Engineering Project
Processes: CAD, 3D Printing
I designed and developed an electric wheelchair trainer for a high school student with cerebral palsy and autism so that they could navigate independently.
The electric wheelchair trainer is designed to teach the student how a joystick on an electric wheelchair controls their movement. To demonstrate this, when the student pushes on the joystick, the display shows an arrow pointing in the respective direction and a speaker vocalizes the direction input. The base attaches to the wheel chair with velcro straps. The display and speaker are controlled by an arduino.
